Jerry Rubin, M.D.

Jerry was born in Ogden, Utah. He finished his premedical education at Weber State College. He attended medical school at the University of Utah, graduating in 1977, and completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In 1980 he joined Dr. Jordan Klein (our now retired founding doctor) in practice. He is married and has three married children and two grandchildren. He enjoys sports (especially triathlons), wood-working and gardening. His areas of special interest are integrated medicine and behavior management.

Dean Prina, M.D.

Dean was born in Reno, Nevada. He completed his undergraduate premedical work at Stanford University and attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego, graduating in 1979. After completing his pediatric internship and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, he joined Partners in Pediatrics in 1982. He enjoys music, travel, the arts and volunteer work. His areas of special interest are the newborn, special-needs children, writing education materials and holistic care.

Nancy Lataitis, M.D.

Nancy was born in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee near the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. She was inspired to become a pediatrician after watching her grandfather, a general practitioner, care for families. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, then graduated from Vanderbilt University Medical School. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver where she met the Partners in Pediatrics "family". Dr. Lataitis is married and has two children. She enjoys skiing, travel, and time with her family and two dogs. She has been an active volunteer in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for Adam's Camp, a Colorado non-profit providing intensive therapy for children. Her  special interest are adolescents, asthma, and children with special needs.

Elspeth "Lisa" Miller, M.D.

Lisa was born in Delta, Colorado. She received both her B.A. in Economics and her Medical Degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. She returned to Colorado to complete her internship and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Lisa is married and has two sons. In her free time, she enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, and fly-fishing. She is also an avid traveler and a diehard Bronco fan. Lisa's primary area of interests are newborn and toddler care.

Mike Simones, D.O.

Mike was born in Denver, Colorado. He completed his undergraduate work at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado and attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in Saint Louis, Missouri, graduating in 2011. Mike enjoys hiking, outdoor photography, music and sports. His special pediatric areas of interest include osteopathic medicine and childhood obesity.

Emily Granath, M.D.

Emily was born in Visalia, California. She grew up in Aurora, Colorado and has long loved the mountains. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences form Texas A&M University, graduating with honors. She attended The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Emily completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at UCLA. She joined the Partners in Pediatric team in 2011. She is married and in their free time, Emily and her husband enjoy biking, skiing, and anything outdoors. They are also avid travelers. Emily's primary areas of pediatric interest are newborn and adolescent care.

Kristin Prevedel, M.D.

Kristin was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Colorado College, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1996. She attended Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska from 1997-2001. Dr. Prevedel remained in Omaha for her pediatric residency training at the University of Nebraska-Creighton University Medical Centers from 2001-2004. In her free time, Dr. Prevedel enjoys biking, swimming, and spending time outdoors and with her family. She also writes poetry and plays the piano. Dr. Prevedel's areas of special interest include nutrition, holistic medicine, and sports medicine.

Ben Jessen, PA-C

Ben is a Colorado native, born and raised in Loveland, Colorado. He attended the University of Northern Colorado majoring in Human Biology. Ben graduated from the Midwestern University Masters Physician Assistant Program. He is married with two children. His outside interests are his family, skiing and the mountain's back country. Ben's interests are in allergy and asthma.

Ara Haupt, PA-C

Ara was born in small town Minnesota and later lived abroad with her family in Tanzania where she graduated from high school. She completed her undergraduate degree at Pepperdine University and went on to earn a master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at the University of Colorado. After completing PA school, she joined Partners in Pediatrics. Ara and her husband love to spend time adventuring outdoors, traveling internationally, cooking and volunteering through their church. Her areas of interest include integrative medicine, adolescents and holistic mental health.

Dana McHale, PA-C

Dana was born in Portland, Oregon. She completed her undergraduate studies in Chemistry and German at The University of Denver. She graduated from the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and joined Partners In Pediatrics in 2003. Dana is married and has four daughters. She enjoys hiking and skiing with her family, running with her dog, doing art projects with her girls, and volunteer work. Her areas of special interest are childhood behavior, adolescents, and diabetes.

Lauren Reed, C.P.N.P.

Lauren grew up in Clearwater Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010 from the University of Florida. She moved to Denver in 2011 for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Colorado, graduating in 2013. Lauren enjoys hiking, snowboarding and gator football. Her areas of special pediatric interests are her passion for children, especially toddlers.

Mike Pete, PA-C

Mike was born in Akron Ohio and grew up in Brandon, Florida. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida where he also played baseball. After pursuing a professional baseball career, Mike graduated from the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and joined Partners in Pediatrics in August 2015. Mike is married to his high school sweetheart. They have a brand new baby son and a sweet yellow lab. He enjoys hiking, fishing, snowboarding and traveling.

Greg Bingham, PA-C

Greg was born in Antioch, California. He received his undergraduate degree in business administration from San Francisco State University in 2004. Shortly after, he moved to Colorado to work with at risk youth in a residential treatment facility where he led wilderness trips. He went on to complete a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies in the Child Health Associate/ Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Greg‘s primary pediatric interests include promoting a healthy lifestyle and adolescent care. In his free time, you may find him mountain biking, snowboarding, traveling abroad or strumming on his mandolin.

Jimmy Amettis, PA-C

Jimmy was born in Illinois and fell in love with Colorado when his family moved to the little mountain town of Salida when he was 10. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Denver in 2008. He went on to complete the Physician Assistant program at Red Rocks Community College and earned his Master of Medical Science degree from St. Francis University in 2014. Jimmy is passionate about working in children's health and is interested in the holistic approach to medicine. He loves to laugh and does his best to make kids smile every day. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the Denver restaurant scene, hiking, being outside, art, cinema, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He has yet to hear Greg play the mandolin despite his many requests.

Kendra Balsiger, PA-C

Kendra is a Colorado native, born and raised in Greeley, Colorado. She completed her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University while running Cross Country and Track for the Rams. She then earned her master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at the University of Colorado. Kendra has always loved pediatrics and has specific interests in children with special needs, newborns, and orthopedic issues. She and her husband met while running at CSU and love spending time with family and friends, running, skiing, and doing anything outdoors.

Stephanie Lavigne, PA

Stephanie was born and raised in small town Idaho. Her passion for volleyball took her to Portland, Oregon where she competed for Portland State University while earning her Bachelor's degree in biology and community health. While working in orthopedic research she chose to pursue a career in medicine and went on to graduate from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Physician Assistant program. Since then she has worked in the urgent care setting where her love of caring for children blossomed. She is most interested in orthopedic injuries as well as general health and is excited to help kids of all ages learn to make healthy choices. She has found a home in Colorado with her husband and baby girl. In her spare time, Stephanie most enjoys being with family and friends, spending time outdoors, cooking, baking, and playing volleyball.nd love spending time with family and friends, running, skiing, and doing anything outdoors.
